Korolev, the space capital of Russia, is not only one of the most famous Russian science cities, but also a true oasis of the Russian intelligentsia of the early 20th century. Marina Tsvetaeva lived here during the tragic moments of her life, her famous Bolshevsky notebooks were born here, and the art critic and theologian Sergei Durylin, Pasternak's "literary father" and a close friend of the artist Nesterov, worked here. No wonder this place was named "Bolshevskoye Abramtsevo".
The city of Korolev is known worldwide as the space capital of Russia. The first artificial satellite of the Earth was created here, the R-7 rocket, the famous Seven, and the Vostok spacecraft, on which Yuri Gagarin was the first to escape into space, were designed and manufactured here. And even earlier, the famous Central Artillery Design Bureau, which was called the "V. Grabin Empire", worked here.
Oleg Kuvaev, a geologist, writer and screenwriter, lived in this city, whose works are not inferior to the books of Jack London. He was the only writer after whose death the gold diggers chipped in and erected a bronze monument to him.
Vladimir Vysotsky gave his last concert at the Korolev House of Culture.
But all that will come later. And first there was the rural village of Bolshevo. K.S. Stanislavsky, A.P. Chekhov, V.Ya. Bryusov, M.A. Voloshin, B.L. Pasternak, A.A. Akhmatova, M.I. Tsvetaeva, I.I. Levitan, K.A. Korovin, M.V. Nesterov, P.M. Tretyakov and many others lived and worked on this land.
In 1936, the writer S.N. Durylin settled in his dacha in Bolshevo. Actors of the Maly Theater come to his house in dachny Bolshevo, and M.V. Nesterov often stays for a long time. The writer N.D. Teleshov also visited here, who called this cozy corner of the Moscow region "Bolshevsky Abramtsevo."
The fate of the house itself is interesting. It was built in a matter of months according to the design of architect Shchusev in 1936 thanks to the efforts and energy of Durylin's wife Irina Alekseevna. At that time, the house was spacious – two-storied with arched windows and a veranda. And it was built from an unusual material – the remains of the Holy Monastery, which was blown up in Moscow. Moreover, a couple of years ago it was discovered that not only the foundation, window frames and doors from the former monastery were used in the construction of the Bolshevsky house, but also the logs from which it is made.
Durylin lived in this house for 18 of the most prosperous years of his life. Here he wrote books about Lermontov, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Dumas, Ermolova, and the Sadovsky dynasty. Sergei Nikolaevich had a unique gift for gathering people around him. Kachalov, Khmelev, Ryzhova, Kozlovsky, Ilyinsky visited here. His friends called him a walking encyclopedia, appreciated him for his cordiality and joie de vivre. Nadezhda Obukhova sang to the guitar in the apple orchard, Svyatoslav Richter played the piano.
Not far from S.N. Durylin's house is the Marina Tsvetaeva Memorial House Museum. What connected the poet Marina Tsvetaeva with this place, a state–owned cottage; what tragedy swept through her fate in this house? Here, after two years of separation, the Tsvetaev-Efron family will unite for the last time, and here close and dear people will part forever. In these rooms, Marina Ivanovna said goodbye to her daughter Ariadna and her husband Sergei forever: on August 27, 1939, Alya was arrested, on October 10, Seryozha... Tsvetaeva remains alone with her son in a large, empty, cold house. On November 8, 1939, Marina Tsvetaeva left this house forever.
There is a memorial plaque at the entrance to the museum, and a sculpture under the windows of Tsvetaeva's apartment: a half—blown thorn bush bending in the wind, its roots wrapped in a massive chain. Everything is in this sculpture, as expressive as it is concise: Marina's fate, her character, and the vivid image of her time.
